A senior practitioner with 30 years proven track record in public relations and corporate brand marketing, Rasila Hamzah was Executive Director of Spencer Azizul Public Relations, the public relations arm of Spencer Azizul Advertising, one of the largest local communications group in Malaysia.

Her previous positions include: Director, Public Affairs & Corporate Communications, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Account Director, Hill and Knowlton. She has also managed the public affairs and corporate advertising functions of several Malaysian public listed companies, including UMW Holdings Berhad, the Lion Group and the PERNAS Group.

Rasila’s passion for public speaking is channeled through her membership at Toastmasters International, Shah Alam Club. She regularly speaks at national and international seminars about media relations, issue and strategic management, corporate image, investor relations and internal communications.

She has also lectured to postgraduate students at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia, imparting her knowledge on Marketing Communications and Advanced Public Relations respectively.

Her academic credentials include M.A. Journalism (Public Relations), Masters in Public Administration (MPA) and B.A. Hons. (English). She is a Fellow and Life Member of Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), the national public relations body, and is on the board of IABC, an international business communicators’ association based in San Francisco, USA.

She is also the former National Chair (Malaysia) and Council Member of International Public Relations Association (IPRA) based in London, U.K.

Rasila is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in brand management at Charles Sturt University, Australia.
